The T20 World Cup has begun today without Bangladesh. A total of 20 teams are participating in the tenth edition of T20 cricket. Bangladesh is not taking part in this edition.
Following the removal of Mustafizur Rahman from the IPL, the BCB and the interim government took a firm stance on not sending the team to play in India. Discussions between the ICC and the BCB continued for nearly a month regarding this issue. The ICC did not accept Bangladesh’s demands in the face of its rigid position. As a result, Bangladesh was removed and Scotland was given the opportunity to participate in the World Cup.
