Nazmul Must Resign or Cricketers Will Boycott All Games, Including BPL

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) director M Nazmul Islam’s controversial remarks were not taken positively by the cricketers. In protest, the players have issued an ultimatum for his resignation by Thursday (January 15). The president of the Cricketers’ Welfare Association of Bangladesh (CWAB), Mohammad Mithun, said that if he does not resign by 1:00 pm before the BPL match, all forms of cricket will be stopped or boycotted.

Speaking at a press conference held via Zoom, CWAB president Mohammad Mithun said, “You all know what has been happening over the last few days. First it was directed at one individual, and now the way all cricketers are being spoken about, the words being used—these are never acceptable. This is not what we expect. A director should be more careful with his language. Especially what he has said has hurt the entire cricket fraternity.”

Mohammad Mithun further said, “You all know what has been happening over the last few days. First it was directed at one individual, and now the way all cricketers are being spoken about, the words being used—these are never acceptable. This is not what we expect. A director should be more careful with his language. Especially what he has said has hurt the entire cricket fraternity.”

In response to M Nazmul’s remarks, CWAB president Mithun said, “The way he has commented about all our cricketers is in no way acceptable. So if he does not resign before tomorrow’s match, we will boycott all forms of cricket.”
