BPL Could Not Be Started on Schedule Due to Cricketers’ Boycott

Eventually, the cricketers went down the path of boycott. Due to a controversial comment, the cricketers had demanded the resignation of BCB director M Nazmul Islam within today. Otherwise, the Cricketers’ Association (COAB) had announced that they would call for a boycott of all kinds of games. As a continuation of that, the match scheduled for Thursday at 1 PM at the Mirpur Stadium did not take the field on time.

Primarily, before the start of the BPL match, a deadline had been set for his resignation. On Thursday, the BCB also issued him a show-cause notice. Even then, the issue could not be resolved. The first match of Thursday did not start according to the scheduled time. Initially, Chattogram Royals and Noakhali Express were supposed to take the field on this day. The toss of the match also did not take place. Because at the scheduled toss time of 12:30 PM, neither team was present on the field. The match was supposed to start at 1 PM local time.

Besides that, the Dhaka Cricket League matches also could not be started on Thursday morning.
