Journalist Attacked by Osman Hadi’s Supporters at Dhaka Medical College Hospital
A journalist was attacked by supporters of Sharif Osman Hadi while gathering news at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. The journalist’s name is Rifat Risan. He is the Dhaka University (DU) correspondent of the private television channel Channel One.
The incident occurred around 2:30 PM on Friday (12 December).
The victim, Rifat Risan, is a student of the 2022–23 academic year in the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism at Dhaka University.
Speaking about the attack, he told Bangla Tribune that after hearing about Osman Hadi being shot, he rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital to collect news. In front of the emergency department, several individuals stopped him from filming. When he asked why they were obstructing him, they attacked him. Later, with the help of another media worker nearby, he managed to escape the situation.
