Lawyer Beaten to Death in Bashundhara Area
A lawyer named Naim Kibria (35) was beaten to death in the Bashundhara Residential Area of Bhatara in the capital. The incident occurred late Wednesday night.
Naim Kibria’s home district is Pabna Sadar Upazila. His father’s name is Golam Kibria. He was a lawyer at the Pabna District Judge Court.
The victim’s cousin, Rafikul Islam, told the media, “Naim became a victim of mob violence. The private car he was driving was also vandalized.”
Sub-Inspector Ariful Islam of Bhatara Police Station said, “We have learned that late Wednesday night, while driving a private car, it collided with a motorcycle in the Bashundhara Residential Area. Following this, the motorcyclists brutally assaulted him, injured him, and left him there. Later, after receiving the news, his relatives rescued him and took him to Kurmitola Hospital, where he died.”
He also said that the body was recovered from the hospital last night and sent to the morgue of Dhaka Medical College for autopsy.
