Trump Vows to “Permanently Shut Down Immigration” from All Third World Countries

U.S. President Donald Trump has said that his administration will “permanently shut down immigration from all Third World countries.”

He made this remark on Thursday after an attack on members of the National Guard near the White House.

According to Reuters, Trump is blaming the security screening failures of his predecessor Joe Biden’s administration for the attack in Washington, D.C.

The U.S. President did not name any specific country, nor did he clarify what he meant by “Third World countries” or “permanently shut down.”

He also threatened to cancel the permission to stay for those who gained the opportunity to immigrate to the United States during the Biden administration.

“To allow the American system to fully recover from disease, I will permanently shut down immigration from all Third World countries, I will cancel the authorization of the millions of illegal immigrants Biden has brought in, including those who got the opportunity with a jab of Sleepy Joe Biden’s auto-pen, and I will remove those who will not be considered an asset to the United States,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social.

He also said that all federal benefits and subsidies for “non-citizen” individuals would be cancelled.

He said that those who disrupt peace and order in the United States will have their citizenship revoked, and foreign nationals who become a burden or a security risk to the United States or who “do not assimilate into Western civilization” will be sent back.

Reuters did not immediately receive comments from the White House or the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services regarding the President’s remarks.

Outraged by the sudden attack near the White House that killed a National Guard member, Trump earlier took a harsh stance on Afghan immigration programs. Investigators said that the attack was carried out by an Afghan national.

Another National Guard member was also shot in the attack. His condition is critical.

Before Trump’s post on Truth Social, officials from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security said that Trump had ordered a comprehensive review of individuals who received refugee status or green cards during the Biden administration from 19 countries.

According to U.S. government documents seen by Reuters, the suspect involved in the National Guard attack in Washington, D.C. received refugee status earlier this year under the Trump administration.

Multiple Western media reports say that 29-year-old Rahmanullah Lakanwal, who arrived in the United States in 2021 under a resettlement program, had worked with the U.S. intelligence agency CIA while in Afghanistan.
