TTP Chief Noor Wali Mehsud Killed in Drone Strike in Kabul

There are rumors that Noor Wali Mehsud, the chief of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), has been killed in a targeted drone strike in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan. Multiple sources suggest that the strike may have also killed his potential successor Saifullah Mehsud and Khalid Mehsud.

According to these sources, Noor Wali Mehsud's vehicle was severely damaged in the drone attack. However, there has been no official confirmation of his death yet. Reports have only confirmed that he was critically injured.

The incident comes amid an ongoing intense operation against the TTP leadership. It remains uncertain how this attack will affect the group’s leadership structure.

Analysts have warned that the TTP may retaliate in response to the strike.

Around the same time, two powerful explosions and gunfire were reported in District 8 in eastern Kabul. Local residents stated that the blasts shook the entire area and caused panic among nearby communities. Some unverified posts circulating on social media claim that fighter jets were seen in the sky, sparking fears of further attacks.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Army’s spokesperson (DG ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry is scheduled to hold a press conference on Friday at the Peshawar Corps Headquarters, where he is expected to provide details about this high-risk operation.

Such a targeted airstrike in the Afghan capital is being considered one of the boldest moves in recent years, signaling a possible intensification of border security operations by Pakistan.

On the other hand, Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA), confirmed the explosions in a statement and urged citizens to remain calm. He mentioned that an investigation is underway, and no major damages have been reported so far.

However, some individuals have claimed that multiple airstrikes were carried out in and around Kabul. If this information proves to be true, it could dramatically change the current situation.

The Taliban government has not yet made an official comment on the nature of the explosions but has advised local residents to remain cautious.
