Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti stated in a press conference that while Afghanistan is a neighboring and friendly country to Pakistan, some individuals involved in the recent attacks in Pakistan were Afghan nationals.
He stated: “Afghanistan is our brotherly and neighboring country, but safe havens have been provided there for these individuals. Training camps have been made available to them, and they have received state support. They attack us from there. Now you have seen that many of those who were recently killed were Afghan citizens.”
He called on the Islamic Emirate to remain committed to the Doha Agreement and not allow Afghan soil to be used against any country, especially Pakistan.
The Pakistani official added: “I always remind the interim Afghan government that you signed an agreement with the world in Doha. You promised that your soil would not be used against any other country. So, you must remain committed to this pledge.”
Sayed Muqaddam Amin, a military affairs analyst, commented on Pakistan’s security concerns, saying: “Pakistan’s security situation is not good, and the TTP has turned into a military force, but Afghanistan cannot be blamed for this.”
Pakistani officials have repeatedly attributed insecurity in their country to Afghanistan. However, the Islamic Emirate has consistently stressed that Afghanistan does not seek instability in Pakistan and has no connection to anti-security incidents there.
