Clash Between Two Groups of Students at Government Alia Madrasa

A clash has taken place between two groups of students at the Government Madrasa-e-Alia located in Bakshibazar of the capital. The incident occurred around 10 p.m. on Saturday night. Four people were injured and came to Dhaka Medical Hospital for treatment. Upon receiving the news, police and army personnel went to the scene.

 

The injured are Ilyas (21), Mohiuddin (18), Md. Omar (22), and Mabik (21).

 

Inspector Md. Faruk, in charge of the DMCH Police Camp, said that the four injured are receiving treatment at the emergency department. Some have injuries on their legs, others on their heads.

 

According to police sources, a Milad Mahfil program was ongoing inside the madrasa on Saturday night. An argument broke out between two groups of students during the program. At one point, both groups got into a clash. Several people were injured. Police arrived and brought the situation under control.

 

At around 11 p.m., Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, Mallik Ahsan Uddin Sami, told that the police were working on the scene to bring the situation under control.
