Meeting Between the Foreign Minister and the U.S. Ambassador
Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman held a courtesy meeting with U.S. Ambassador to Dhaka Brent Christensen. The meeting was held on Monday (23 February) in the morning at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The U.S. Ambassador also met with State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam.
Issues related to the interests of the two countries were discussed in the meeting. While leaving after the meeting, the U.S. Ambassador said that it was a very good meeting.
However, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs did not disclose detailed information about the meeting.
In a post on X after the meeting, Ambassador Christensen said, “Congratulations to Khalilur Rahman on assuming his new responsibilities as Foreign Minister. I am pleased to continue working together to make our two countries safer, stronger, and more prosperous.”
Alongside the U.S. Ambassador, the European Union (EU) Ambassador to Bangladesh, Michael Miller, also paid separate courtesy calls on the Foreign Minister and the State Minister today.
