Multiple Crude Bomb Blasts Reported Near Dhaka Airport
A series of three crude bomb (cocktail) explosions occurred consecutively in two areas of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital. However, no casualties have been reported in the incident.
The explosions took place around 10:20 PM on Thursday near the airport roundabout entrance gate and in front of the Center Point Unimart Market.
Inspector (Investigation) Sheikh Rafiqul Islam of the Airport Police Station confirmed the information around 12:30 AM.
He said that after receiving reports of crude bomb explosions in two locations of the airport, police arrived at the scene and collected samples. No casualties have been reported in the incident.
He further said, we suspect the crude bombs were thrown from the flyover. Therefore, no one could be identified. However, it is being investigated who carried out the explosions and for what purpose.
Earlier, on Tuesday night around 3 AM, a crude bomb explosion occurred at the main gate of the entrance near the airport roundabout. In that incident, an Ansar member named Mohammad Mujahid (25) was injured.
