Two Bangladeshi youths have been killed in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province during a joint security forces operation while fighting for the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
One of the deceased, Ratan Dhali (29), was from Muksudpur upazila in Gopalganj district. The other, Faisal Hossain (22), has not yet been identified by address.
The matter has been confirmed by the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Intelligence (CTTI) unit of the Special Branch (SB) of Bangladesh Police.
CTTI Special Superintendent of Police Rowshan Sadia Afroze said, “We are one hundred percent certain that Ratan Dhali joined the TTP and took part in fighting in Pakistan.”
Intelligence officials said Ratan and Faisal crossed into India through the Benapole land port on 27 March 2024. From there, they illegally entered Afghanistan and eventually reached Pakistan, where they joined the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan.
