Yunus’s Special Assistant Khoda Bakhsh Steps Down

President Md. Shahabuddin has accepted the resignation letter of Khoda Baksh Chowdhury, Special Assistant to Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus.

A notification regarding this was issued by the Cabinet Division on Wednesday.

The issuance of the notification was also confirmed to journalists by the Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary, Shafiqul Alam.

On November 10 last year, Muhammad Yunus appointed three individuals as his Special Assistants with the rank of State Minister.

Among them, former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khoda Baksh was assigned the responsibility of overseeing the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Khoda Baksh, who joined the police service in 1979, was appointed as IGP in November 2006, towards the end of the BNP-led alliance government.

After the coalition government handed over power, he continued to serve as IGP during the caretaker government led by President Iajuddin Ahmed.

Later, when the caretaker government led by Fakhruddin Ahmed took charge, he was made an Officer on Special Duty (OSD) at the Ministry of Establishment.

Subsequently, in March 2010, Khoda Baksh went into voluntary retirement.
