Due to the war in the Middle East, the government has decided to close all universities in the country to save electricity and fuel. At the same time, English medium schools have also been declared closed on the occasion of the holy Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr.

The Ministry of Education said that this holiday will be effective from today, Monday. This information was announced in two separate notices issued by the ministry yesterday, Sunday. The decision to close all universities from today, Monday has been taken by bringing forward the Eid-ul-Fitr holiday. The Ministry of Education issued the directive yesterday. The directive states that in the current situation it is necessary to save electricity and fuel at the national level to deal with the global crisis. Therefore, responsible and energy-saving behavior must be ensured among officials and employees in all public and private universities.

The directive further states that during the daytime, if there is sufficient natural light, the use of electric lights should be avoided and natural light should be used by keeping windows and doors open. Half of the existing lighting should be used. The use of unnecessary lights should be avoided. During office hours, unnecessary lights, fans, air conditioners and other electrical appliances must remain turned off. In the case of air conditioner usage, the temperature must be set at 25 degrees Celsius or above. When leaving an office room, the lights, fans, AC and all electrical equipment must be switched off.

Unnecessary lighting in office corridors, stairs, washrooms and similar places must be stopped. After office hours, all electrical appliances (lights, fans, computers, printers, scanners, AC etc.) must be turned off. All decorative lighting must be avoided and energy-efficient equipment should be used. The use of vehicles must be limited and fuel consumption should also be minimized.
