The verdict in the case filed against ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and two others for alleged genocide and crimes against humanity committed during the July uprising will be announced on Monday, November 17.
The three-member International Crimes Tribunal-1, headed by Justice Md Golam Mortuza Mozumder, issued the order on Thursday. The tribunal’s other members are Justice Md Shofiul Alam Mahmood and Judge Md Mohitul Haque Enam Chowdhury.
On October 17 last year, the tribunal issued arrest warrants against Sheikh Hasina and two others. Later, on June 1, the tribunal took cognizance of the charges brought by the prosecution against Sheikh Hasina and Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal.
Subsequently, on July 10, the tribunal formally framed charges against Sheikh Hasina and two other accused in the case.
Out of 84 prosecution witnesses, testimonies from 54 witnesses have been recorded so far.
Since leaving the country on August 5 last year, the ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has reportedly been residing in India.
