The Election Commission (EC) has announced that all types of National Identity Card (NID) services will remain suspended indefinitely. This decision has been taken in the interest of preparing the voter list CD.
Md. Saiful Islam, Director (Operations) of the National Identity Registration Wing, confirmed the matter and said that all types of NID services will remain suspended indefinitely from 4 pm today.
The Election Commission is preparing for the thirteenth national parliamentary election in the first half of February. A referendum will also be held on the same day. As part of this preparation, the EC is suspending NID services.
