Matiur Rahman Chowdhury Elected NOAB President for 2026-27 Term

Matiur Rahman Chowdhury, editor-in-chief of Daily Manab Zamin, has been elected president of the Newspaper Owners’ Association of Bangladesh (NOAB).

 

In a meeting held on Saturday, members of the NOAB committee for the 2026-27 term were elected unopposed.

 

The new committee was announced by NOAB Election Board Chairman M. Mashrur Riaz.

 

Other members of the committee include: Vice President ASM Shahidullah Khan, chairman of the New Age editorial board; Treasurer Altamash Kabir, publisher of Dainik Sangbad; Members A. K. Azad, owner of Times Media; Matiur Rahman, editor and publisher of Prothom Alo; Mahfuz Anam, editor and publisher of The Daily Star; Tasnima Hossain, editor of Ittefaq; AMM Bahauddin, editor of Inquilab; Dewan Hanif Mahmud, editor of Bonik Barta; Mozammel Haque, editor of Karthoya; M. A. Malek, editor of Azadi; Dr. Romijuddin Chowdhury, editor of Purbokone; and Nasim Monjur, publisher of The Financial Express.
