Arrests and Security Measures

DMP stated that important areas such as New Market, Shyampur, Kalabagan, Tejgaon, and several metro stations are under heightened surveillance. Masud Alam, Deputy Commissioner of Ramna Division, said police are working jointly and analyzing CCTV footage.
Context of Rising Violence
The verdict in the trial of deposed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina—charged with "crimes against humanity" during the July uprising—is scheduled to be announced on November 17. Police claim that since November 10, arson attacks on buses and crude bomb explosions in Dhaka and other areas have been linked to tensions surrounding the upcoming verdict. According to police, online programs by the Awami League and activities of its affiliated organizations have contributed to the rising tension.
Escalating Threat to Public Safety
These acts of sabotage across the capital pose a serious threat to public safety. Alongside one injured pedestrian, widespread fear has gripped the city. Law enforcement agencies and RAB are conducting active operations, but political tensions and planned sabotage attempts are making the situation increasingly complex.
Experts warn that such attacks and unrest ahead of the election may pose a major challenge for the administration. Ensuring public safety and swiftly identifying the sabotage networks are crucial.
