Sheikh Hasina Seen Healthy and Confident

A delegation of the UK Awami League recently met with former Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina in New Delhi. The five-member delegation, which traveled from London, held a nearly five-hour-long meeting with Sheikh Hasina on January 21. They returned to the United Kingdom on January 26 after completing their visit.

According to several members of the delegation, the Government of India has provided Sheikh Hasina with the highest level of dignity and a well-organized security arrangement. Her residence is protected by a multi-layered security cordon, supervised by special security forces, along with all necessary support staff. The delegation leaders commented that the overall arrangement is consistent with the status of a state guest.

Strict security protocols were followed during the meeting. No personal belongings, including mobile phones, were allowed. After Sheikh Hasina’s approval and completion of security checks, the delegation members were taken to her residence in vehicles operated by the special security forces.

After the meeting, one leader stated, “We found Sheikh Hasina to be completely healthy and normal. She appeared confident, determined, and mentally strong. There were no visible signs of physical illness. Rather, she spoke attentively about the country’s situation and future.”

According to the delegation, Sheikh Hasina’s residence is highly furnished and secure. A sufficient number of staff members are employed to look after her care and assistance. It has also been learned that her younger sister, Sheikh Rehana, regularly travels from London and stays with her for some time.

It is worth mentioning that Sheikh Hasina is currently maintaining regular communication with party leaders and activists and is conveying her position through messages and statements from time to time. In recent days, her physical well-being, mental strength, and confidence have brought a sense of relief and optimism among party leaders and supporters.

The leaders of the UK Awami League described the meeting and visit as important and inspiring. According to them, Sheikh Hasina’s morale and determination carry a positive message for the party and its supporters.
