Excluding the Awami League will make the 12 February election non-inclusive: CPD
The Center for Policy Dialogue (CPD) has commented that the upcoming election scheduled to be held on 12 February will not be inclusive if the Awami League is excluded from the election.
On Saturday (7 February), at a media briefing titled “Scenario and Expectations of a Green Sustainable Economy in the Electoral Area: Results of Candidate and Voter Surveys”, the research organization said that supporters and voters of the Awami League whose activities remain banned could play an important role in determining the final election outcome.
Based on the analysis of data from various surveys, CPD stated that ignoring the opinions and participation of this large segment of the population could put the acceptability of the election into question.
According to CPD, ensuring a credible and inclusive election requires the inclusion of all major political parties and their voters.
