Dhaka Sees Three Separate Cocktail Blasts; Motorcycle Burns in Hatirjheel

Explosions of crude bombs (cocktails) occurred in Mirpur, Pallabi, and Hatirjheel in the capital. In the Hatirjheel blast, a motorcycle caught fire.

 

Between 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday (15 November), four separate crude bomb explosions took place in the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) area of Mirpur, under the Mirpur-12 Metro Station, and under the Madhubag Bridge in Hatirjheel. However, police reported that no casualties occurred in these incidents.

 

Assistant Commissioner (AC) Md. Mizanur Rahman of the Mirpur Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police told the media that around 5:30 p.m., a crude bomb exploded in the BRTA area. But it is not yet known who carried out the explosion.

 

Meanwhile, Hatirjheel Police Station confirmed that another crude bomb was detonated under the Madhubag Bridge in Hatirjheel at around 6:15 p.m. A motorcycle at the scene caught fire due to the explosion.

 

Duty Officer of Hatirjheel Police Station, Sub-Inspector (SI) Fuad Ahmed, told the media that no one was injured in the explosion. Police are working at the scene.

 

Meanwhile, Pallabi Police Station reported that at 7:20 p.m., miscreants suddenly detonated two crude bombs under the Mirpur-12 Metro Station and fled. No casualties have been reported. Police from Pallabi Police Station are present at the scene.
