Modi Expresses Concern Over Khaleda Zia’s Illness, Assures Assistance

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep concern over the deteriorating health condition of Bangladesh’s former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia. He has also stated that India is ready to provide any kind of assistance if needed.

In a post on X on Monday, Modi wrote, “I am deeply concerned to learn about the health of Begum Khaleda Zia. She has contributed to the public life of Bangladesh for many years. My sincere prayers for her quick recovery. India is ready to extend all possible assistance in any way.”

Eighty-year-old Khaleda Zia was admitted to a private hospital in Dhaka on November 23 due to complications from a chest infection. She has long been suffering from multiple health issues, including liver and kidney problems, diabetes, arthritis, and eye conditions. Earlier this year, she returned to the country after staying in London for four months for advanced medical treatment.

On Monday (December 1), BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir told reporters that Khaleda Zia’s condition is stable, and her treatment is continuing under close medical supervision.
