Cocktail Explosions in Moghbazar, Mouchak, and Mohammadpur
Incidents of cocktail explosions have occurred in the capital’s Moghbazar, Mouchak, and Mohammadpur. These explosions took place between 7 pm and 12 am on Thursday.
Around 7 pm, miscreants detonated a cocktail in front of Mouchak Fortune Market under Ramna Police Station. However, no casualties were reported.
Tariqul Islam Tutul, Inspector (Investigation) of Ramna Police Station, said that around 7 pm, a cocktail explosion occurred in front of Fortune Market in Mouchak. No casualties were reported in this incident. Efforts are underway to identify those responsible.
Then at around 11:25 pm, miscreants detonated a cocktail under the flyover at Moghbazar intersection. However, no one was injured.
Md. Abdul Kader, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Ramna Police Station, said that at around 11:25 pm, miscreants threw a cocktail from the Moghbazar flyover. It later exploded in front of a restaurant below. However, no injuries were reported. Those responsible for the explosion will be identified and brought under the law.
Later, around 12 am on Thursday night, miscreants detonated a cocktail on Zakir Hossain Road under Mohammadpur Police Station. However, no casualties were reported.
Eyewitnesses said that around 12 am, miscreants arrived on a motorcycle and detonated a cocktail. They then fled quickly.
Saidur, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Mohammadpur Police Station, said that they went to the scene after receiving the news. Upon arrival, they did not find any evidence of a cocktail explosion. However, after questioning nearby residents, they learned that they had heard a loud sound.
