The Prime Minister of Nepal’s interim government, Sushila Karki, has said that Nepal will not be allowed to walk the path of Bangladesh under any circumstances. She made this comment recently at an event held in Kathmandu. She strongly criticized the continuous pressure being exerted on the current government by political parties and the younger generation.
Sushila Karki compared the current interim government to a “sudden storm.” She said, “Political parties are harshly criticizing us; some are threatening every day to leave the government. Gen-Z youths are also saying every day—resign today, resign tomorrow. But what does resigning from the government actually mean?”
She expressed regret, saying that after being given the opportunity to work, they are now being insulted by being told to step down.
Sushila Karki said that she is constantly hearing bitter remarks and abuse from the youth society and political parties.
Stating that “we have become like a pendulum,” she said, “Enduring all obstacles and insults, we are continuing to work patiently. Around 25 to 30 Gen-Z youths are coming with different kinds of demands. Wherever we go, we find no peace anywhere.”
She also said that her administration does not want to take Nepal toward the current unstable situation in Bangladesh.
“We are committed that we will not let Nepal become Bangladesh. We do not want Bangladesh,” said Sushila Karki.
