Jamaat a ‘Deceptive Party’, Does Not Believe in Independence: Salahuddin Ahmed

Calling Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami a “deceptive party,” BNP Standing Committee member and Cox’s Bazar-1 (Chakaria–Pekua) constituency candidate Salahuddin Ahmed said that the party does not believe in the country’s independence. Those who do not believe in independence will not speak the correct history either.
He said, “Now we are once again having to listen to a new narrative of the Liberation War from Jamaat. They are even trying to prove that they also have a freedom fighter by hiring one on payment.”
Salahuddin Ahmed made these remarks while addressing the final election rally held at the Shaheed Abdul Hamid Municipal Bus Terminal in Chakaria, Cox’s Bazar, at 5:30pm on Monday (9 February).
