BNP Says Those Who Sided with Pakistan in 1971 Are Being Brought Back

The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has alleged that individuals who collaborated with the Pakistani military during the 1971 Liberation War — including those involved in the persecution of freedom fighters — are being rehabilitated in Bangladesh.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said efforts are underway to distort the history of the Liberation War and to create a false narrative as if the country’s history began only recently.
He also warned against any move to delay or manipulate the upcoming national elections, saying such actions would endanger democracy and the interests of the people.
