Kader Siddiqui Says He Will Boycott Any Election That Excludes the Majority of the People

Saying that he will not participate in an election that excludes the majority of the people, Bangabir Kader Siddiqui Bir Uttam, president of the Krishak Sramik Janata League, made this remark. He said, “If an election is held including all the people of Bangladesh, my Gamchha Party will join the election. But if an election is held excluding the majority of the people and only BNP, Jamaat and the NCP take part, then we will not participate in that election.”

He said this at a discussion meeting after a rally organized on the occasion of Tangail Liberation Day from the Occupation Forces on Thursday (December 11).

Kader Siddiqui said, “Sheikh Hasina’s injustice is not the injustice of Sheikh Mujib. Sheikh Hasina’s injustice is not the injustice of the Liberation War. Sheikh Hasina’s injustice is not the injustice of the Awami League. The Awami League was founded by Maulana Bhasani. The Awami League was founded by Shamsul Haque. If you say you will judge Hasina, then you will also judge the Awami League—this you cannot do. You cannot. You cannot. Ayub Khan could not, Yahya Khan could not, and you also will not be able to.”

Kader Siddiqui further said, “As long as I live, I will live cherishing Bangabandhu in my heart; as long as I live, I will live saying Joy Bangla.”

The chief guest at the discussion meeting was Abdul Latif Siddiqui, one of the organizers of the Liberation War and a former minister. Also present were Bir Muktijoddha Abul Kalam Azad Bir Bikrom, Bir Muktijoddha Kazi Ashraf Humayun Bangal, and honored and decorated freedom fighters of the Kaderia Bahini.
