Rumours of a Private Meeting Between Putin and Sheikh Hasina
There are widespread rumours from various sources that former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina held a secret meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin during his visit to India.
Sources say the meeting took place before Putin’s scheduled meeting with Indian President Droupadi Murmu.
According to several sources, the meeting lasted 17 minutes. However, no information has been obtained regarding the topics discussed in the meeting.
This exclusive discussion reportedly took place at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi during Putin’s two-day state visit (4–5 December).
Sources state that Sheikh Hasina was taken to the Rashtrapati Bhavan under strict supervision of the Special Protection Group (SPG), using an official Fortuner vehicle typically used by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The meeting was held in Conference Suite-2 of the Rashtrapati Bhavan just moments before Putin’s meeting with the Indian President. After his meeting with Sheikh Hasina, Putin went directly to the inner chamber to attend his scheduled discussion with the Indian President.
According to the sources, no one else was present during Sheikh Hasina’s meeting with Putin.
