After Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Bin Hadir, NCP’s Khulna divisional chief and central organiser of NCP Sramik Shakti, Motale b Shikdar, has now been shot in the head.
NCP Joint Chief Organiser Dr Mahmuda Mitu disclosed the information in a post on social media today, Monday (22 December). In the post, Mahmuda Mitu said, “NCP’s Khulna divisional chief and central organiser of NCP Sramik Shakti, Motale b Shikdar, was shot a short while ago. He has been taken to Khulna Medical College Hospital in critical condition.”
Hospital sources said that the bullet pierced the left side of Motale b Shikdar’s head. He was bleeding profusely while being taken to the emergency department. As his condition deteriorated, doctors immediately began necessary examinations, including a CT scan.
Eyewitnesses and hospital-related sources said that he was shot in the head at around 12:30 pm on Monday (22 December).
Immediately after the incident, he was rescued and taken to Khulna Medical College Hospital.
The identity of the gunshot victim, Motale b Shikdar, was confirmed through a visiting card found in his pocket. According to the card, he is the convener of Khulna divisional Jatiya Sram Shakti and a central organiser of the National Citizen Party. Multiple NCP leaders have also confirmed the matter.
Regarding the incident, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sonadanga Police Station, Md Rafiqul Islam, said, “The incident has come to our attention. Initially, it is suspected that miscreants opened fire targeting him.” It has been preliminarily learned that the incident occurred in the Majid Sarani area of Khulna. However, no one has been arrested so far.
