Long-Standing Tradition Changes: Cabinet Oath-Taking at South Plaza of Parliament
A new chapter in the country’s political history is set to begin next Tuesday (February 17). Breaking with tradition, the cabinet oath-taking ceremony will be held in the South Plaza of the National Parliament, under the open sky. On the same day in the morning, newly elected members of parliament will also take their oaths at the same location.

13th National Parliament Election: 7 Women Candidates Elected
In the 12th National Parliament election, 19 women candidates were directly elected, whereas in the 13th National Parliament election that number has dropped to only 7. This means that within just one electoral cycle, women’s representation has decreased by 12 seats, a development that is being viewed with concern in political circles.

BNP Announces Election Manifesto

Over 90% of Post-August Violence Linked to BNP–Jamaat Forces
A recent study by Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) reveals that the vast majority of violence incidents that occurred after 5 August were linked to activists and leaders of the main opposition political party. The research, covering the 17-month period from August 2024 to December 2025, found that 91.7% of all documented violent incidents were associated with opposition party members.
