ASEAN lawmakers call for urgent regional action to prevent Rohingya food crisis
The ASEAN Parliamentarians for Human Rights has called on Association of Southeast Asian Nations and the global community to urgently address the worsening Rohingya refugee crisis in Bangladesh, warning of a looming humanitarian disaster.
Food Aid Cuts Deepen Crisis for Rohingya Refugees in Bangladesh
Food assistance for hundreds of thousands of Rohingya refugees living in camps in Bangladesh has been significantly reduced, raising serious concerns about worsening humanitarian conditions. The cuts affect a population of around 1.2 million refugees who are heavily dependent on aid for survival, as they are not allowed to work and have limited access to other sources of income.
February Inflation Reaches 10-Month High Due to Rising Food Prices
Inflation in Bangladesh rose again in February, surpassing 9 percent. The Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) reported that the overall inflation rate stood at 9.13 percent, which is the highest in the last 10 months.

Nearly 16 million people across Bangladesh’s disaster-prone districts are likely to face a major food crisis by December, while around 1.6 million children may suffer from severe malnutrition, according to a new joint analysis report conducted by the Food Planning and Monitoring Unit (FPMU) under the Food Ministry and three UN agencies.
