Attack on Journalists, Cameras Vandalized at the Martyred Intellectuals Memorial
It has been alleged that six journalists were injured in an attack carried out by activists and supporters of the Swechchhasebak Dal at the Martyred Intellectuals Memorial in Mirpur, the capital. Cameras were also vandalized during the incident.
Journalist Shawkat Mahmud Placed on Five-Day Remand

Government Moves to Control All Internet Services Under New Telecommunication Law

International platforms like Facebook, YouTube, WhatsApp or Netflix will also need government approval if they wish to provide services in Bangladesh. With certain conditions, interception will be possible. With such provisions, the government has initiated an amendment to the 2001 Telecommunication Act.
