Textbook Distribution
Poor-Quality School Books Spark Alarm Ahead of 2026 Classes
Significant concerns have emerged over the quality of textbooks being printed for the 2026 academic year, as a large portion of the books reportedly fail to meet required standards. Issues range from substandard paper quality to poor printing, raising questions about oversight and accountability within the education system.
NCTB Claims Textbooks Will Be Delivered in January, Stakeholders Express Uncertainty
Although there are some problems with printing free textbooks at the secondary level, the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) has claimed that all students will receive their textbooks next January. However, leaders of the Bangladesh Mudran Shilpa Samity (BMSS) say that if the government shows sincerity and effort, it will be possible to distribute the textbooks in January. Otherwise, it will not be possible to distribute all books in January.
